New Delhi: In a meeting that underscored the durability of the India–Russia partnership, Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov held detailed talks with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval this week.
The agenda was wide-ranging: ongoing military-technical cooperation, review of big-ticket defence projects, and plans to deepen joint ventures in civil aircraft manufacturing, metallurgy, and the chemical industry.
For India, the meeting is another step in its careful balancing act — maintaining strong security and economic ties with Russia while expanding partnerships with the United States, Europe, and other allies. For Moscow, the talks reinforce a vital relationship at a time when its access to Western markets and technologies remains severely restricted.
Officials confirmed that several projects are already in the pipeline, with funding frameworks and production timelines under review. While the discussions were behind closed doors, the outcome is clear: both nations are locking in commitments that will shape their security and industrial capabilities for decades.
