Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy stated that the Telangana government has consistently led from the front in fostering a business-friendly environment for industries. He noted that within just 20 months of the people’s government coming to power, Hyderabad has rapidly evolved into a hub for Global Capability Centers (GCCs).

The Chief Minister, along with State Industries and IT Minister Shri Duddilla Sridhar Babu, inaugurated the Global Capability Center established by the globally renowned pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly and Co. in Hyderabad. Addressing the gathering at the inaugural event, the Chief Minister described the occasion as a historic milestone for Telangana’s life sciences sector.

He emphasized the government’s vision to position Telangana as a global leader across all sectors, including industrial development. Hyderabad’s emergence as a GCC hub, he said, reflects the government’s focused and sincere efforts. The Chief Minister specially lauded Minister Shri Duddilla Sridhar Babu and the officials who played a pivotal role in achieving this success.

“Our target is to build a $3 trillion economy by 2047. It is a proud moment for Telangana that a world-class company like Eli Lilly has chosen Hyderabad. The city already hosts over 2,000 life sciences companies and 200 international organizations,” he said.

Highlighting Hyderabad’s scientific strength, the Chief Minister said that every third vaccine produced in India is manufactured in the city. Genome Valley stands as the country’s largest R&D cluster for life sciences. These achievements underscore the city’s talent pool, robust infrastructure, and industry-friendly policies.

He added that Eli Lilly’s cutting-edge work in diabetes, cancer, immunology, and neuroscience has the potential to be a “game changer” in the healthcare sector. The Telangana government, he reiterated, remains committed to enabling such global partnerships.

“Employees of Eli Lilly working in Hyderabad are now part of Telangana’s extended family. With their collaboration, we aim to establish Telangana not only as the life sciences capital of India but also as the top global hub for healthcare innovation,” the Chief Minister affirmed.

The event was attended by top government officials and Eli Lilly leadership, including Executive Vice President Mr. Diogo Rau, India President Mr. Winselow Tucker, and Managing Director Mr. Manish Arora, among other dignitaries.
